The Fundación Starlight lists the Comarca del Valle del Alberche y la Tierra de Pinares, in Castilla y León, as a Starlight Tourist Destination certified in October 2023.

The destination is run as a tourism area by Asotur Alberche Pinares, which is based in Burgohondo in the province of Ávila. Its website says the comarca groups 24 municipalities into one destination. It describes mountain gorges and centuries old trees, with a hiking network of about 290 km.

For stargazing, Asotur points to its network of stellar viewpoints, the Red de Miradores Estelares, and a printed guidebook sold through member towns. Neither Asotur nor the Starlight Foundation publishes sky quality meter readings for the comarca.

Our coordinates are at Burgohondo, the seat of the comarca association, and our light pollution map estimates Bortle 5 there. We have no sky measurement for the comarca itself.

At our coordinates the Milky Way core peaks around 21 degrees above the southern horizon. June, May and July give the most core hours in our data. Check the Asotur viewpoint network for a site with an open view to the south before you go.
